31st General Assembly of the Canadian Religious Conference (CRC)
Montreal, May 18, 2016 – From May 26-29, 2016, 300 leaders of Catholic religious congregations from across Canada will gather at the Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel for the 31st General Assembly of the Canadian Religious Conference (CRC).
The main theme of this assembly – The mission of congregational leaders: discerning hope amid the challenges – will be addressed by Simon Pierre Arnold, osb. He will also respond to issues raised by the attendees on this topic.
A Benedictine Abbot originally from Belgium, Father Arnold is the founder of a monastery in Peru where he has been living for the past 40 years. He has written, in Spanish, several books on the Church and on religious life, some of them are published in French.
This gathering, held every two years, is an opportunity for leaders of religious congregations, members of the CRC, to meet and share on their experiences and daily challenges. At the end of the General Assembly, the members will propose orientations for the next two years and elect a new Administrative Council.
Beginning May 27, a daily summary will be posted on the CRC website at: crc-canada.org. You can also follow the event on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/ConferenceReligieuseCanadienne.
