A public worship service in celebration
of its 75th birthday

On September 26, 1944, The Canadian Council of Churches was established in an inaugural worship service at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. For 75 years, The Canadian Council of Churches has contributed to faithful public witness, transformative education and learning, and foundational research and dialogue.
Today we respond to Christ’s call for unity and peace, seek Christ’s truth with an affection for diversity, and act in love through dialogue, prayer, and witness to the gospel.

Join us as we give thanks for the ways God has worked through the one ecumenical movement in Canada. ln addition to songs and prayers that reflect our member churches, The Rev. Amanda Currie, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, will preach on “Growing Up Together”.

All are welcome! A freewil offering will be collected for the work of the Canadian Council of Churches.

Additional information:

  • Wheelchair access to the main Sanctuary is located just north of the main doors on Yonge Street. The Yorkminster Park Centre entrance is also wheelchair accessible and is equipped with an elevator.
  • Church parking available on the north side of the building; public parking available at two Green P parking lots on either side on Yonge Street, south of the church.
  • Church leaders who attend are invited to wear clothing from their faith tradition that is appropriate for a non-eucharistic service.
