Passionists in Toronto: Jubilee Synod – Gratitude | Prophecy | Hope

We are not living an era of change but a change of era

Pope Francis

The Congregation of the Passion inaugurates its Jubilee on the occasion of 300 years of its life. On this occasion, here is a message of Fr Jim O’Shea, Leader of St. Paul of the Cross Province.

The Passionist Jubilee Synod in Toronto is a time for people to gather to explorethe future of the mission of the Passionists at St. Gabriel’s and in Canada; to listento and learn from one another, to imagine how to address this issue, to move intoa better future, and to report these findings – all with the guidance of the HolySpirit.

This Lent, the Synod will gather people from St. Gabriel’s Passionist Parish andfrom the Passionists’ mission in Canada, as well as those who experiencemarginalization within our Church or society. Everyone is welcome to participatein the synod, including those who have experienced any form of marginalization.

The final report is more likely to provide valuable and lasting insights when manypeople with different perspectives listen and discern during the Synod.
