We are currently seeking a person for the position of:

Project Manager / Outreach Worker

Job Summary:

Under the authority of the JRS Country Director, the employee’s main mandate will be to raise awareness of refugee issues among organizations and the general public. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and initiative.


  • Promote and facilitate the simulation exercise A Journey into Exile, in Quebec, across Canada and in the Jesuit network in the United States;
  • Update the simulation exercise once a year;
  • Develop a follow-up guide to the simulation exercise that could be used by groups seeking to deepen their experience on the issue of refugees;
  • Keep track of developments in migration flows in the Americas, Africa and the Middle East;
  • Establish a team of volunteers who will assist JRSCanada in achieving its objectives related to the Journey into Exile simulation exercise;
  • Write reports on the activities;
  • Develop and propose awareness-raising activities;
  • Work in solidarity with other sectors of the

Qualifications & requirements:

  • 2 years experience facilitating groups;
  • 2 years experience working with immigrant communities, particularly refugees and asylum seekers;
  • Knowledge of the realities of refugees and asylum seekers overseas and in Canada;
  • Fluency in oral and written French and English;
  • Knowledge of a third language is an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to network with a variety of stakeholders (community groups, school boards and/or schools, governments, funders, etc.);
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite and social networks;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Availability during evenings and weekends.

Working Conditions:

  • Full time permanent position (35h/week)
  • Salary: $47 000 annual
